Ingredients
- 4 Large beetroot (raw)
- 4 large sweet potato
- Salt and pepper
- 2 Tbsp plain flour
- 1 Tbsp chili flakes
- 1 garlic clove
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180c degrees
- Peel the potatoes and boil until they are soft enough to mash
- Grate the beetroot, and then put it into a muslin cloth and squeeze out as much water as you can (a tea towel will work too)
- Mash the potato and add it to the beetroot, add the flour, chili flakes and garlic and mix into a thick dough
- Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper or oil, shape the mixture into burger size/shape and bake for 20 minutes

- Beetroot contains betaine which lowers blood pressure and may be anti-inflammatory
- Beetroot also contains nitrates which help prevent bloodclots
